Sunday Dad Date

On Sunday, K took Hen to our favorite play space, Playhaven, while I stayed home to meal prep and craft with my soul sister, Cookie D!

They met Hen’s best lady friend, Lizzie, and played until they both passed out.

They read books, ate lunch, climbed slides, and did arts and crafts.

Hen has become quite the little artist.  He paints and draws with the nanny during the week and has become one of his favorite activities.

Hugs, Not Drugs

An impromptu friend date led to an HH + TT reunion!

Tate is just shy of 6 months old. Henry is  14 months. I guess being the older of the two, Hen feels entitled to use TT’s belly as a pillow. What a ham!

These two are BEST BUDS in the making:) Just like their mama(s)!

Our Whirlwind Weekend – South Lake Tahoe, CA

It’s Monday – blah!

But the good news is that I am having a blast reminiscing about our weekend.  On Friday, we headed up to South Lake Tahoe, CA where Henry and his sweet friend, Lizzie, saw snow for the firs time. I absolutely love FIRSTS!

Speaking of firsts…

This was my first trip/vacation with a family who has a babe around Hen’s age.  It was an absolute blast and a great FIRST experience.

I don’t know how we did it, but we packed in EVERYTHING we wanted to do in a short amount of time.  We took the babies sled riding, the dads took them up the mountain in a gondola, the moms luxuriated with massages, tv time, and a dip in the hot tub. We ate great food, had awesome conversations, and had the best time watching Henry + Lizzie play together.

Mark this under my new favorite hobby – #1 is watching Hen + Lizzie interact.

Henry + His {Lady} Friend, Miss Lizzie

Henry has a pint-sized friend named Lizzie.  We’ve been having playdates together since Hen was just a few months old.  The smile(s) on their cute, sweet faces when they see each other just melts my heart.

We visited the “Super Bowl City” in downtown SF last weekend and hung out at the Ferry Building.  Even though both babies were in their carriers, they could not keep their hands off of each other. Literally…

We will be headed to Tahoe together in two weeks where the two will be inseparable, I’m sure.

An Abundance of Henry(s)

My sister in law’s best friend was visiting SF from Portland so it was a must that we got our Henry(s) together. Her Henry, Henry Sal, was born six weeks after my Henry, Henry Hayes!

The two were too cute together! Hen and I met them at the Fairmont Hotel in Ghirardelli Square and had a glass for wine while the Henrys got to know each other.

Most would think that 7 and 8 month old babes won’t play together but these two were touching each other’s faces, sharing toys, and smiling and squawking at each other. It was so fun to see!

Invited: A Birthday Party Celebration!

Over the weekend, we were invited to our neighbor’s 3rd birthday party!  This was Henry’s second birthday party he’s attended and with a few more on the books for the next couple of months, he is going to be a party-guest pro by the end of the year!IMG_4014

This guy was making balloon animals for the kids! This photo captures him in the middle of making Elsa from the movie Frozen.  He was amazing to watch, and the kids were loving him!IMG_4016

He generously offered to make one for Henry on a “stick” so that he could play with it.  When he made this penguin for him, I had to laugh because the one time he went to the aquarium with the nanny, he was TERRIFIED of the penguins!  IMG_4017 IMG_4019 IMG_4020 IMG_4022

…and he made me a pretty pink corsage!

Because Henry was too little for the bounce house but too big to stay in a car seat, we found the middle ground by playing with toys in the house.  He was mesmerized by all of the new toys he could check out!

IMG_4025 IMG_4026 IMG_4028 IMG_4034

Although blurry and unhappy, this photo was too cute to not post!  He’s sooooooo beyond tired but was too afriad to close his eyes and miss out on the fun.  His little ear tug is one of his signs he uses along with rubbing his little eyes to tell us how tired he is!

Don’t believe me?  He laid down next to the jumper and stared blankly at a man sitting on the couch for a good 3 minutes. Three minutes is a long time for a baby to lay still – trust me!

The train cake was just too cute!  And the blue icing left all of the kids with blue teeth, tongues, and lips!  IMG_4039 IMG_4041

The Best Part About Our Denver Trip…

The best part about our Denver trip was spending quality time with family and watching the boys play together.  Henry’s sweet cousin, Levi, is 4.5 months older than him and is showing him the ropes on this whole baby thing!

They love chasing the dogs, trading toys, and head bumping their ginormous noggins together, which is their way of giving each other kisses.

Trust me!  It is cuteness overload up in here!

my friend, the {pink striped} pig

We try to take a minimalist approach to the amount of toys and “things” we have in our small San Francisco apartment, but it seems that we still tend to accumulate things.

One of those “things” is a pink, striped, stuffed pig. Although the recommendation is for 3+, it’s made its way into Henry’s little arms.

It seems the pig may be here to stay. Guess I better start thinking about names for it.

The {Baby} Neighbor

We had a dinner party at our neighbor’s house this week and had a blast watching the boys play.  Believe it or not, the baby beside Henry is one month and thirteen days YOUNGER than Henry.  Yes, I said younger!

At 21+ pounds, the baby neighbor looked even bigger in person, especially compared to our little peanut man.jackandhen They had a blast touching each other’s faces, sharing toys, and having “baby-talk” conversations amongst themselves.jack and hen 2
